As Gerard replayed the night's events in his mind, he could feel blood pumping through his veins. For the first time, he could feel the satisfaction of a deep breath, and even in just that one second where he recalled the warmth of another's hands on his bare skin, he'd felt more alive and like himself than he had the entire past year. As they left the diner later that evening, Gerard couldn’t help but feel relaxed. It was the first time in a long time that he could honestly say it, and he really had to credit it all to Frank. He’d spent the entire evening out, and it wasn’t as bad as he thought it would be. It was quiet, which helped; there was hardly a soul anywhere, so he could focus all his attention on the one boy who cared enough to have faith in him.
